Participation in 6th TaeKangWon Online Poomsae Seminar

Poomsae (Patterns) is an intricate subject in Taekwondo, one that stretches back many years and ties all that is Taekwondo in a simple yet complex sequence of movement and hand/foot techniques. A true testament of its dynamicity and importance, despite its apparent rigidity to the untrained spectator, is the fact that books are still being written about them so many years after the modern Poomsaes (Taeguk and Dan) were formally defined and introduced back in the early 70s!

To this end, DAM instructor Emvin Mifsud, together with his daughter and fellow black belt Rachel Mifsud attended and successfully completed the “6th TaeKangWon International Poomsae online Seminar”, conducted by TaeKangWon President GrandMaster Ik Pil Kang (9th Dan). Ik Pil Kang is highly respected in this field of Taekwondo and continuosly publishes books related to the meaning and execution behind the Poomsaes. During this seminar, GM Ik Pil Kang gave a thorough explanation on the understanding of movement of the Taeguk Patterns, as well as in depth analysis of three Dan Poomsaes: Koryo, Keumgang and Taebaek.

Well done to the Mifsuds for their commitment in staying up to date on this core subject of our beloved art!
