In a week-long taekwondo training camp in Serbia, three talented athletes from Dragon Taekwondo, Nathan Degiorgio, Luke Chircop, and Samuel Vella, sharpened their skills and dedication alongside their coach, Mauro Busuttil.
Organized by the renowned Serbian Olympic coach Dragan Jovic and his team from Taekwondo Club Galeb, the camp proved to be a transformative experience for all participants. The coaching staff, including world-renowned Iranian coaches, Seyed Kalife and Reza Imanzade, provided invaluable insights and guidance to the athletes.
Held in Vranjačka Banja from August 13th to 20th, the camp not only featured intensive training sessions held twice a day, focusing on various aspects of taekwondo from physical preparation to tactical manoeuvres in the heat of competition, but also provided fun moments to make friends with other athletes and share memorable experiences
One of the highlights of the camp was the test matches on Monday, where our athletes had the opportunity to put their skills to the test against four different opponents. With sessions tailored for cadets, juniors, and seniors, the camp attracted over 500 athletes from around the world, creating a dynamic and competitive training environment.
The shared experiences and knowledge gained provide fresh insights and training techniques that will enhance local training sessions for the benefit of all athletes.
This opportunity provided to the Dragon athletes is a testament to the coaches’ commitment to fostering a culture of continuous self-improvement and experience gaining. As the athletes gear up for future competitions in October, the club encourages individuals of all ages to seize such opportunities for growth and development in the world of taekwondo.
