DAM at the Malta Invitational Games (G2 Comp)!

The Invitational Games of Malta came finally to an end. It was a great experience for all local
athletes that represented both their country and their respective clubs in this first ever
Malta G2 Small Nations. They all fought with a burning desire to succeed and it showed in
their will to fight. You all made history! Be proud!

Surely, we cannot be proud enough of our respective athletes which for whom was their
first ever competitive experience and competing against foreign athletes. On day 1 we had
the twins Zac and Noah Kitcher Deguara who competed against each other in an exhibition match
with Noah being declared the winner. Nathan Degiorgio, Samuel Vella and Oleksandra Slobodian
obtained silver medals after hard-fought bouts and Luke Chircop obtaining bronze. Aretina
Chamaleli won her exhibition fight against Faeroe Islands.

On day 2 we had our top senior athletes Jerome Vassallo that competed in the under the –
80 kgs male category winning bronze, and Shania Magro winning silver in the female -57 kgs
category.

This event happened only a week away from our forthcoming participation in the 5th Open
Villeneuve Sur Lot, France.

We would like to thank the Malta Taekwondo Association and the Maltese Olympic
Committee for the organisation and offering such an opportunity. Last but not least to our
dedicated coach Mauro Busuttil who not only coached our athletes but also helped with the
organisation of the event. Our thanks is extended to the national coach Ditmir Vadinaj that
gave the club coaches the opportunity to coach their respective athletes in this event. You
have our full Respect!
