During the first weekend of May, Dragon Martial Arts organised its 5th edition of the Annual Retreat; as per previous years, it was held at the Archbishop Seminary, Rabat.
The retreat kicked off on Friday evening with a session conducted by our sparring coach, Mauro Busuttil, and concluded with a pizza night. As per usual, all kids were hyped up and struggled to sleep. This time round, the second day kicked off with a difference, and following the breakfast, all participated in a treasure hunt activity organised by Emvin Mifsud. This activity encouraged all participants to work in groups and collaborate to accomplish the assigned tasks. Following the lunch, Emvin Mifsud conducted a Hapkimudo session, concentrating on take-down drills. A belt and certificate ceremony was then held for Hapkimudo and Taekwondo members who passed their grading examinations the weekend before.
Sabomnim Formosa conducted the last session of the day, focusing on TKD self-defence using the legs. The kids were tired this time, which meant an early good night.
The last day kicked off with Shania Magro conducting a tactical sparring session, followed by another session using the point-scoring system.
We want to thank all participants, helpers, and members of Birzebbugia Taekwondo Club who always join in.
